Ghosts at the Buxton Inn |
| I used to work at the Buxton Inn in Granville Ohio, and honestly I did not last there long because of all the strange happenings there. I worked in housekeeping as Head Housekeeper, I had since I was little heard that this Inn was haunted, so in a way was kind of excited when I got hired. I really didn't think I would see anything or hear things but that changed soon after I started. Let me give you a brief history of this Inn. It was built in 1812, and is one of the oldest Inn that still stands in Central Ohio, in it's original form. It has been in many magazines and is also in two of the books Haunted Ohio. It is pretty famous. It is not just one building but actually four houses in like a square. In the main house which is the original Buxton Inn, it has a restauraunt and several dining rooms and upstairs has three rooms to stay in and two offices and two banquet rooms. It is a beautifull place and not one of any of the rooms in any of the buildings are alike in anyway. If you ever wanted to stay somewhere nice and it be haunted this would be it. After I started working there everyone would tell me stories and which rooms not to go in by myself, there are about six rooms that people have encounters in the most. Well one day we were real busy and had alot of people waiting to check in so we had to split up and get the rooms done, I went to the main building and went to clean room nine{I think that was the number}, I felt uneasy in this room and always did. I was half way done with the room and was sweeping when something unpluged my sweeper. I turned around to make sure that it did not pull out of the wall and I had plenty of cord left, I walked in the bathroom to plug it back in and the end of the cord was wraped around the towel rack, that was it, I unwraped it and left the room. Another incident I was in the main building and was sweeping the up stairs hall way, all of sudden I heard a voice very soft whisper say in my ear shhh, I turned around and looked behind me and didn't see anyone, so I started sweeping again and all of a sudden in a louder voice I heard something say I said shhhh. This time I turned the sweeper off and walked over to the office and asked the manager if she was telling me to not sweep, and she said no she didn;t say anything. I siad ok and went back to sweeping.There are more things that happened to me and I will write another post latter. So be watching for it. |
