| This temple was built in the 13th century by the Alii priest Pa'ao. It is sacred to "Ku-ka-lil-muku", the Hawaiian God of War. Also known as "Ku", "The Divider of Lands", he was the ultimate warrior. The fire-mouth "Ku" demanded thousands of human sacrifices to satisfy his craving for blood. The ruins of this temple are sacred to the ruthless and powerful"forces of war". Historically, it is considered forbidden for women to visit the site.Haunted Places,p.145. |
