RINGWOOD MANOR CEMETERY,SADDLE RIVER,NEW JERSEY |
| On dark, moonless nights, the ghost of Robert Erskine can be seen sitting on top of his tombstone.Sometimes he swings a latern in one hand, and at other times he manifests himself as a blob of blue light. The strange light has been known to follow cars on Ringwood Road or escort visitors from his grave back to the bridge that leads out of the cemetery.General Erskine built Ringwood Manor in 1762 and is buried in the small family cemetery there. One night not long after he was buried, a brick mysteriously popped out of the side of his vault. It is said his spirit escaped that night and has nver returned.Haunted Places,p.276. |
