| One of Nottinghamshire's most haunted playhouses is The Little Theater in Raeford, which was built a decade ago on the site of another theater that dated back to World War I. The former theater was haunted by a very powerful presence responsible for all sorts of poltegeist activity that terrified actors and employees. On many occasions, the apparition of a man in a black evening dress was seen moving about the empty row of seats and sometimes he could even be heard whisteling a tune.
