I swear when I was younger, I saw one of my stuffed toys move...Ever since I have not been able to sleep with that stuffed toy in my room. It's locked away in my cupboard somewhere. Thinking back, it was probably all just in my mind, but I still find it creepy lol. |

When I was 5 years old I was terrified of the dark. My parents didn't have any tolerance of my fear so I had to just deal with it. I would stare at the dark shadows of my room...especially where the walls met the ceiling and I would SWARE there was an elephant on top of our house making the ceiling come down lower and lower on me. I remember one particular horrifying time that I looked down on my floor and thought I saw a big black snake....also a HUGE fear of mine. I screamed my fool head off until my mother came in and showed me it was just one of my fathers old ties that I had been playing with. I wish all snakes were just one of my fathers old ties. LOL....great post. |

One time when I was little, my mom had just put me to bed and I was lying in my bed looking around my room. I was staring at my shelf and my books were out of line. I thought that in the dark the books looked a man's face It didn't scare me. It just looked a little weird. |

That incident with the tree was interesting. Steven Speilberg said he was scared of a tree in his yard as a kid...that's why "Poltergeist" has that tree in it! I was sleeping at my aunt's house & her bedroom door was cracked open. I kept thinking the door was opening wider and I was too scared to close it. Couldn't sleep for a long time! And let's not talk about things under the bed. I was petrified as a child that something under the bed was going to get me so I was careful not to let my legs go over the side while sleeping. Yes kids have a truly active imagination! -Wood Elf |

lol, I was never scared of things under my bed. It's a trademark, now, isn't it? there was never the fear of something under the bed as much as there was with scary stories! Wow, I still remember them all!! *shivers* lol. :) ~Aquangel9 |

I had an "under the bed monster" when I was younger I remember always jumping off my bed or doing the sort of running jump on my bed out of fear something would grab my ankle. Hmmmm as far as seeing something... I thought there was a giant spider in the corner of my room once I was so scared I couldn't move I evetually fell asleep I think it was a pile of clothes or something don't remember. |
