Fed up with being disturbed - advice?

This is a bit of an update to my situation that I posted on before regarding the noises in my closet as well as the shadow figure I've been seeing in my room. What I'm really looking for is advice and help with the situation because I'm reaching my wits end with it.

It's not so much activity such as noises and shadows anymore, which has led me to believe that it's more than just my imagination and lack of sleep. I've had paranormal experiences before that were unpleasant, and although I know others have experienced much worse than I have, this is the worst and hopefully as bad as my experiences will ever get.

I'm not even sure where to begin with everything that's happened so I guess I'll start with the worst experience I've had in my room.

It was about 3 or 4 in the morning and my boyfriend had stopped over to visit. I wasn't really tired but he looked exhausted so I figured I'd lay down with him and at least let him get some rest. He passed out within minutes and I just laid there trying to relax myself so that maybe I'd get in a small nap.

Now what I'm about to say might sound hard to believe. People may think that I was just dreaming or imagining things, but I assure you I was not.

You know how when you close your eyes at night you can see little amorphous and blurry shapes and blobs behind your eye lids? Well these non distinct shapes actually began to take form. What I began to see was crystal clear like it was a dream and for a little while I actually thought that I had entered the state where it felt like I was awake but was really dreaming. However, I was able to open my eyes whenever I wanted to and whenever I would close them again the images would immediately return as clear as they were before.

What I saw was very vivid and disturbing. The duffle bag that sits against my closet door (I always keep stuff in front of it to make sure it's always closed) partially open with maggots crawling on top of it like something was decaying inside. At this point I opened my eyes to clear the image then closed them again. When I closed them I then saw a shadowy form of a person that looked at me, turned then walked out of my line of "sight". It kept doing this over and over, each time getting slowly closer to me. I was about to open my eyes again when it just suddenly appeared in front of me, like it was hovering right over my face. I opened my eyes again of course and didn't close them after that. During the entire time that I saw these things I felt very on edge not just from the images, but because it felt like something very negative was there.

Just as a side note, I have tried closing my eyes and concentrating on producing clear images many nights since then and have not come even close to being successful at producing anything as clear as this.

Had it been just this occurrence, I might have shrugged it off and tried to rationalize it, because I feel like one incident is an accident and two a coincidence, but there is too much going on for me to discount it anymore.

I'm sure many of you know that I have insomnia and I thought the medication I was on wasn't helping at all (note: it's not a sleep aid). But what I've found is that I sleep, pardon the expression, like the dead when I'm anywhere but in my room. I also need almost complete darkness to sleep in other places, but can't sleep a wink without some light being on in my own bed. Granted, I feel ridiculous telling you this since I haven't been afraid of the dark since I was a child, but it strikes me as odd because in other places I'll actually choose not to turn on a light to go to the bathroom and I'll navigate my way comfortably through the darkness.

It might be worth mentioning that January was a particularly stressful month with me regarding my school work and whatever is in my room becomes more active and tangible when I am stressed. I was so fed up with it one night while writing a final paper when it kept startling me by appearing in the mirror that I told it to cut it out and said a prayer and after that it didn't bother me again that night (of course I also didn't sleep that night either).

Whatever is there seems to bother me more when I am in bed and trying to sleep.

Overall, I get the impression that whatever is there is very negative. I've made it a habit to ask God for protection and to envision myself with a white light filled with his love etc. and have taken to sleeping in my boyfriend's room more often, but I don't want to live like this. I have a lot going on concerning my family, my schoolwork, and have a lot on my plate as it is. I just want whatever is there gone so at least I can have some peace in a place I used to feel was a sanctuary for me.

I told everything to my cousin hesitantly because although she's had very similar experiences, especially with seeing images like I did, I feel like many people will discount it as dreaming or my imagination. It was nice to hear she believed me as I hope all of you will and she gave me a rosary she had blessed to hang above my bed and suggested that I get the rosary I have already hanging there blessed.

My question is, can I do anything else? Getting the room blessed is out of the question - the Priest in town doesn't seem very open to such things and I feel like it would be hard to convince him because the dorm I live in is less than 10 years old. However, I don't feel like whatever is bothering me is connected to the room - my friend who is open to these things lived in it last year and had no problems and for the first month I had no problems there either. I get the feeling that somehow it became attracted to me and took up residence there, but of course have no idea why other than the fact that I am more vulnerable due to my current situation.

So, any advice?

Baseurama 2/6/2006 12:11:00 PM "which has led me to believe that it's more than just my imagination and lack of sleep at work." lol do you generally make it a habit to sleep at work? You said you've asked God for protection, did you try asking it to leave in the name of Jesus? Kind of sounds like hypnagogic hallucinations to me.
Java Anyone? 2/6/2006 12:14:00 PM LOL Base - I now see how that sounds... I meant it to mean my lack of sleep working against me hehe. Guess I'll go change that. I have asked it to leave in the name of Jesus and things will be alright for awhile, then it will start appearing again a few weeks later. Hypnagogic hallucinations? I'm intrigued - going to google it now. THanks for the reply :)
Baseurama 2/6/2006 12:19:00 PM It was fine the way it was, I was just kidding. lol Hypnagogic hallucinations can be pretty scary. After you google it, let me know if that sounds a lot like what you're experiencing. If you're sleep deprived you're more likely to experience them.
6Ball 2/6/2006 12:29:00 PM Say aloud, and mean it, "In Jesus Name, I command you to flee this room! You have no power here, by the blood of Jesus Christ!" Evil entities cannot bear to hear the name of Jesus Christ. Repeat this, throughout your house, aloud, & mean it. If it returns later, and Jesus says that evil spirits may return to a familiar place if they find no other place to rest. Repeat what you said. Believe it and know that even the name of Jesus Christ has power over evil. If you want the verses, IM me and I'll tell you what they are. I am praying right now for you also. -Wood Elf
Miss_mlila 2/7/2006 6:43:00 AM Hello! Well, I can say i have the same thing happening to me all the time.. I am still not used to it. The thing is that you have to create a balance in your house. I have a rule, They appear and do what ever when I'm out cold.. When I'm not, they sit hang out around me but they dont appear..For the black shadow, its not a bad shadow, its just a spirit but you see it as dark because you are afraid of seeing its true colors. TRUST me, I am too.. One day I actally let goof that fear and it was a french men and he had a very nice bluish color.. I strangely wasent afraid. But I know you sense negative feeling.. I feel it too, but its more confusion and he wants to make friends with you.. Lets put it this way. If you meet someone or someone tried to meet you, are you going to say at first, You are evil and the power of christ the lord compells you? Just try speaking out lound and say that you respect that he is in this house, and you would like that he doesnt appear when you are awake because you get angry and scared. I have 18 years of living with beings.. trust me, no one can hurt you if you dont want them too!*!*Mlila
(CissyPC)God Loves U 2/11/2006 1:58:00 PM This is a prayer I say to ask God for protection: “Dear God, please keep the enemy away from this house, and send Your Angels to watch over us, and to protect us.” I hope things get better!! God Bless
Java Anyone? 2/11/2006 2:28:00 PM Thank you all for your replies. I will take everything you said into consideration. My cousin recently gave me a blessed rosary to hang above my bed so if it really is negative, hopefully that will keep it from disturbing me. Once again, thank you for your advice. I really appreciate it :) ~ CG
Dina Night Angel 2/18/2006 10:10:00 AM All of you have made good suggestions but I think Wood Elf's suggestion is the most powerful. In addition to hanging a rosary above your bed, you should get some holy water and splash it with ur fingers all over your dorm, including the entrance. I would also hang a cross above the entrance of your room.

Java Anyone? 3/13/2006 10:16:00 PM Hi there, once again thank you all for your advice and sharing. To some degree I've solved my problem by simply not sleeping in my room anymore. Mostly it's because of whatever is there, but also it's been shown that insomnia can become tied to the place where it begins with the bed / room acting as a trigger for anxiety built up from not being able to sleep there etc. Needless to say, I don't care that my room is one of the biggest ones on campus - I don't think I'll be picking it for next year in a few months :p Take care ~ Coffee Goddess
