My Cousin's House *With Pics* (That work!) |
This is my first time putting pics in a post so I'm crossing my fingers it works...
I could go on and on about the things that happened in my cousin D's house, but I'll try to keep this short and concise as possible.
Both upstairs and downstairs we would feel like we were being watched, yet there was a distinct difference between these feelings. When downstairs, it felt like someone else was there, observing. When upstairs, it felt like someone was staring daggers at you and very unhappy. This feeling on the second floor could be felt in the hallway, in my then 2 year old cousin's room, but especially in D's bedroom. While in the hallway and her room, we felt exposed, but in her 2 year old's room, we felt like we were still being watched, but from a distance.
Whatever was upstairs felt very unpleasant, very negative, and very male. Downstairs, felt obviously less intrusive, very passive, and female. The one downstairs actually had a sense of humor - she would mischeivously set of toys and what not at random which of course would startle the bejeezums out of us (it's worth mentioning that once D moved, the toys did not go off nearly as much and could always be explained, such as shutting the toy box and pressing on them etc).
Now, dealing with a presence in general is rather creepy, but sometimes it was more than uncomfortable and down right terrifying, especially for D.
It took us sometime to realize that whatever was upstairs felt mainly based in her bedroom. I didn't realize this until one morning when I was babysitting, I decided to lay down and take a nap in her bed in case her 2 year old woke up. At this point they didn't have a baby monitor and I wanted to make sure I'd hear her. So I went upstairs, ignored the feeling and laid down. I didn't last 5 minutes before I high tailed it back downstairs. Whatever was up there was still unpleasant, but it felt downright hostile and angry. The feeling of being watched was very overwhelming, as if it was sitting at the edge of the bed just glaring down at me.
This is the point where I truly believed there was more to her house than just my imagination. Not because this time I got the bojangles scared out of me, but because I finally mentioned things to D whose response was along the lines of "Oh thank god, I'm not crazy."
I think the worst experience in that house was something that happened to D. She was in bed with her husband. I don't remember all the details of what happened to her, but she told me that she started seeing images behind her closed eyes - very disturbing faces that appeared like demons. Scared, she opened her eyes only to have something hover right in her face - it wasn't distinct enough to make out clearly, but just enough so that she could see the faint imprints of facial features. When this thing was in her face, she felt the presence of something very evil that made her freeze with fear and she said it felt as if whatever it was had sucked the air right out of her body. She prayed like she had never prayed before and was in tears - her husband oblivious to anything that had happened.
I know people will say that it may have been hypnagogic hallucinations, but knowing what was there, I can't be so certain. The next morning she placed a rosary that had been blessed above her bed and was never bothered after that. She said even the intense feeling of being watched lessened.
It might be worth mentioning that D felt very strongly that her child was protected through all this. Her grandmother died shortly before D's daughter was born, and there were various other reasons to believe, other than the fact that one felt distanced from the negative presence upstairs while in her daughter's room, that her grandmother was there.
As someone truly interested in exploring / capturing the paranormal I swear that the original photo was not doctored in anyway. The second photo I obviously drew the line around what my friend pointed out looked like a shadow and increased the brightness and contrast of it to see if I could make it any clearer.
I have no doubt about the white / blue image in the photo - I feel like that was either the spirit downstairs simply observing as D helped me get ready for prom (this was back in 2000 or 2001) or if that shadow is really the spirit from upstairs, then it was simply stepping in and could possibly be D's grandmother.
I can't be certain that this shadow is real or just a variation in the wallpaper. The family that lives there now is shortly moving out so I hope to take more photos to see if I can duplicate a similar effect with the shadow and see if I can catch anything else on film.

Thanks for reading everyone.

Hiya, Coffee Goddess :) Wild! Especially your cousin and the ghostly images she saw with her eyes closed. That is so trippy. I can remember such images. Too afraid to open my eyes, for what I might see. Thanks for sharing with us, lady.:) You are very lovely in your picture.:) Write on.... |

Awww, thanks Kronk, you're very kind :) Yes it is trippy - I can't imagine seeing things like she did with both eyes open and closed! At least my experience similar to hers in a different location went away when I opened my eyes. Thanks for the reply, my friend. It's always a pleasure to hear from you :) ~ CG |

Panther Lover - that's what a friend said, but how many hands do you know of that leave a blue and white streak that doesn't fit with a motion blur? I've tried duplicating the effect with my digital but the dimensions were always off and you could always see a distinct formation of the fingers and I could never get it to look like a series of circular bumps ::shrugs:: |

Half Baked - I agree that it could be nothing with the shadow. The wall paper is so easy to form images out of with all the different fleck / specks in it. The white / blue thing though I could never figure out / rationalize. Could be my imagination, but it almost looks like facial features in the cloudish area below it ::shrug:: |

I forgot to mention - if anyone can duplicate the effect of the white / blueish thing with their hand I'd be more than glad to see it. I'm always open to the logical explanations of things before looking to the supernatural. :) |

I believe that you "captured" something abnormal on the picture and together with what was going on in the house; something was definitely present. These pictures gave me chills! I'm glad she doesn't live there anymore! I wonder why the current family is moving out & if they also felt "uncomfortable" in that house....Thanks for sharing! -Wood Elf |

Hi Coffee Goddess, wow that picture is something! I definitely see the shadow also. We used to have a bnch of pictures from my old house of faces in the wall and different colors lights "sitting" in chairs and all kinds of crazy things. Unfortunately when we moved I have no idea where I packed them but if I ever find them I would like to share them with you. Thats very interesting what you said about the baby being protected because reading this that kept coming into my mind. Babies and small children are often protected :) but for us older folks... lol we have to be fearless in a sense. Interesting and if you have any more stories please share! Thanks for posting! |
