the ballpark ghost |
My friend Nakita has always had a gift for seeing the dead: a "sixth sense" if you will. She would never lie to us about it and to this day swears up and down that she can communicate with them. I had a hard time believing this because my whole belief system in the paranormal isn't as strong as others. I'm still lukewarm on whether or not I believe in ghosts. One reason why I believe her is for this very reason: we were at a park behind a nearby elementary school one day. As we were walking towards our vehicles to depart for the night she suddenly stopped walking, turned to Hondo (another friend of ours) and asks who is sitting in his van. Much to his confusion he said nobody. She replied with remarks claiming that there was someone in the passenger seat who's features resemble that of Hondo's. Freaked out, Hondo got into his van and drove straight home...only to find out that his grandmother had passed away earlier that evening.
ANYWAYS.
Nakita has a sister, Asya. Asya claims to have the same ablities as her sister...to see the dead. She also claims that she can not communicate with them like her sister can. The location of our experience happened at a base ball field located next to an elementary school. And conventienlty enough, there was a fence separating that school from a graveyard (we have yet to know if this apparition has any significance to this graveyard.). We heard a noise coming from the ballpark. It wouldn't have cought our attention if it weren't for these known truths: 1) there was no wind. 2) it was around midnight or 1 in the morning. 3) the noise was not set in a general location but came from other locations around the field, including the concession stands. 4) the fact that it sounded as if nails were being scraped across metal bleachers. Asya claimed that there was a man on the other side of the fence looking at us at disgust. She said he looked angry and she felt very uncomfortable and got an eerie feeling as though he wanted to hurt her. Hondo and I decided to venture into the limits of the field on the other side of the fence to discover exactly what that sound was. Asya screamed "NO! do NOT step past that fence!!" we both asked why and she replied "that's what it wants you to do. it is making that sound to get you closer to it." Needless to say, we were freaked out. Now, me and Hondo are the type of guys that look for that rush of adrenaline, the feeling of fear, we love that stuff. This was right up our alley. The noise kept chaning direction, coming from all over the field. Changing pitch and volume almost each time. All of a sudden and completely unexpected....it was right in front of us. We all heard it as if it was standing directly in front of us not two inches from our faces. We paniced and left. Hondo and I decided to get in our cars and shine the lights on the field. Meanwhile, Jade, Asya, and Heather left to go home. Heather calls me not 2 minutes later begging me to leave because something had just grabbed Asya's face and Asya had a massive handprint covering it. The next day Asya came up to me and Hondo very freaked out and nervous. She admitted to staying up all night because she heard that same sound in her hallway while she was laying in bed. |
